This class is oriented toward newer practitioners, and those looking for a more back to basics approach. In this class we will be working on the fundamentals of asuna alignment, breath work, and meditation. Although this is a foundations class, there will be plenty of opportunities for those with experience to expand their practice. This class can be summed up by my teachers favorite saying, “making simple poses challenging.”

We will begin with slow movement and longer holds that build towards a more challenging peak posture. There will be plenty of options, and adaptations to make each posture more or less challenging. You will have the freedom to choose your own path, and determine your own level of difficulty. With the use of non-conventional postures, modifications, and props, we hope to build a foundation for a safe, confident practice.

From Sanskrit, Vinyasa means “to place in a special way” and aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. This class is a physical vinyasa flow practice that promotes linking the breath and body alignment to keep your mind in the present moment. Fun music and movement combinations will leave you feeling energized and light. Suitable for all levels of experience; posture modification suggestions will be provided.
